Leadership Continuum Scholarship

Purpose: To encourage and foster undergraduate interest and participation in the Sigma Phi Epsilon Leadership Continuum by off-setting some or all of the costs associated with registration and travel, to include Carlson Leadership Academy, Grand Chapter Conclave, Ruck Leadership Institute, & Quest to Greece.

Eligibility: All undergraduate members of the Nebraska Beta Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, in good standing, shall be eligible. Each member receiving a scholarship also agrees, as a condition of the scholarship, to prepare a presentation summarizing the experience and discussing key issues to be presented to the Undergraduate Chapter no more than 14 days following the event, at any regular or special meeting of the Chapter. Each member receiving a scholarship also agrees to write an article for the Beta Times newsletter of no less than one page in length and including no less than one photo from the event.

Application: Any undergraduate member seeking scholarship shall complete the Application Form and submit the same to the Nebraska Beta Alumni and Volunteer Corporation no less than 60 days prior to the event. A new Application Form shall be completed for each event.

Selection: The Nebraska Beta Alumni and Volunteer Corporation shall review all applications, and select recipient(s) by way of a 2/3 vote of the Directors present at any regular or special meeting.

Disbursement: All disbursements shall be made payable directly to the vendor(s) by the Director of Finance.

Cancellation: Any recipient unable to attend their event shall notify the Director of Finance immediately. The recipient may be subject to repayment of any funds received, at the discretion of Director of Finance and confirmed by a 2/3 vote of the Directors present at any regular or special meeting.

Violation: Any recipient shall be considered in violation of their scholarship, and billed for the total amount received by the Director of Finance, if any one of the following conditions is true:

  1. The recipient fails to attend the event.
  2. The recipient fails to make a presentation to the Chapter.
